Moment 1
Me and my family move from Panamá to the United States.
We arrive to the U.S. in late december 2015.
School in the United States was not going to start until August of 2016.
Instead of doing nothing for 8 months, we move to temporarily move to Germany for 3 months, since we had family there, and with the intention to learn a new language.
We get to Augsburg, Germany; a place we have never lived in before.
I felt out of place, uncomfortable.
I could not communicate, I did not understand anything, I did not know how anything worked.
We get to the apartment we rented, it was nice inside, it was cozy.
Made me feel better.
While getting set up in our new home for three months, I go to my room and start unpacking.
Later, exploring the house, I find an old desk in the storage room.
I put the desk in my room.
My parents sign me and my sisters up in an academy to learn how to speak German.
We start going to class.
We meet many people from all around the world, learn from many cultures.
Moment 2
Days start to get long and boring.
Every day I look forward to getting home, eating lunch, and relaxing at home.
With my free time at home, I start playing video games a lot.
It starts to consume my life, the only thing I did was play games for hours without stopping.
After some weeks, I realize that I am wasting my time.
I start looking for different things to do.
I realize I miss my dog, so I start to look at pictures of it.
I make an instagram page for my dog, and start posting pictures of him.
I learn how to attract people, and get followers.
I decide to draw my dog in my computer, with some cool effects.
I comes out really well, I post it, people like it.
Moment 3
I decide to learn how to make websites.
I spend day and night learning how to set up an ecommerce website.
Learn about domain, hosting, coding, plugins, platforms, transactions, and more.
This was all with the goal of making money of from making a website.
But I had no idea on what to sell, or what to offer.
After days of thinking, I remember the drawing of my dog I made, and I though that maybe I could draw other people’s dogs.
I was liking the idea, I also thought of printing the drawings as posters, in phone cases, coffee mugs, etc.
The website drawmydog.net is born.
