Consider The Lobster

I can identify the genre of non-fiction, persuasion and informative. David Foster Wallace uses footnotes to explain terms that he thinks that regular readers may not understand. Apart from doing this, he also uses footnotes to explain things like situations, impacts, and comparisons. He fit entire paragraphs into the footnotes, like when he talks about the working class Rockland and the heavily populist flavor of its festival. Throughout the article, David changes topics, but they are all related to the lobster. He talks about the festival, the impact, the lobster it self, the moral behind boiling it alive, and the science behind it. When he says "Consider the Lobster"I think he means to stand in the shoes of the lobster, or consider the lobster's point of view, or maybe even consider how cruel we are to the lobster.
